Rubber piston air cannons, generally starting with KQP mode air cannons, are the most common and widely installed air cannon types in the market. This type of industrial air cannon uses a rubber piston, or a nylon piston. The piston of this material has a temperature resistance of only 120°C, and it is installed on a high-temperature incinerator.
The high temperature in the furnace is 800°C. According to the temperature measuring gun, the temperature transmitted to the equipment is as high as 230°C. The piston cannot withstand the high temperature, so it melts. At the installation site of a power plant in Liaoning, burnt pistons and gaskets were found after dismantling the equipment.
After learning that the piston rings were burnt, the power plant equipped rubber pistons with fluorine rubber piston rings, but after installing them again, after 3 days of use, the equipment leaked again and did not explode. After dismantling and testing, it was found that even the fluorine rubber ring melted at the bottom of rubber piston, so the air cannon did not work.
After two installations and failures, it was found that although rubber piston air cannon is low in cost and easy to install, the internal temperature resistance of this equipment is poor, and it is not suitable for working on garbage incinerators and high-temperature kilns. If you use technical improvement plan, it is recommended that all-metal piston air cannon be used, and it is expected to get good results.
